Patches. Well, that's all the gag names I can think of for somone with a temporary eyepatch. I'm not wearing one right now, just in case you were wondering if this whole bit is based on some real-life thing. I did wear one once, way way back when I was six or something, but that was just for a week or so, and I barely remember what it was like. And I've never worn one while masquerading as a pirate either, not even in this very strip. I actually think that I look kind of cool in the strip with the eyepatch, but it would lead to all sorts of confusion when people figure out that the strip is loosely based on real life and that I don't wear an eyepatch in real life. That's a problem I want to avoid, if at all possible.
